Australian citizens living overseas in Italy are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the
Federal Election.

Registering as an overseas elector
An Australian already enrolled and registered as an elector in Australia may
register as an overseas elector if they have been out of the country no more than three years and intend to
return within six years

Enrolling as an overseas elector
An Australian who is not already enrolled, who left less than three years ago
and intends to return within six years can apply for enrolment from outside
Australia.
