The Duomo: Milan's most famous Gothic Cathedral. It took 427 years to build and is the third largest church in the world. It is open to visitors from 07:00-19:00 every day. The Museo del Duomo houses many valuable items.

Pinacoteca di Brera: This art gallery displays a collection that was formed by Napoleon. The artworks include Boccini's Riot in the Galleria, Fabriano's Valle Romita polyptych and Mantega's Dead Christ. There are also many other works from the Venetian Renaissance, Lombard Renaissance, Tuscan Renaissance and thirteenth, seventeenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Basilica Sant'Ambrogio: This basilica dedicated to Milan's Patron Saint was founded by Saint Ambrose, but has been reconstructed many times since. There are many key architectural features of the basilica, such as the atrium, the serpent column and the golden altar.

The Last Supper (l'Ultima Cena, Il Cenacolo): One of Leonardo da Vinci's most famous paintings is housed at the Brera gallery on the Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie. As demand to see the painting is always high, it is necessary to book in advance.

The Lakes

Lake Como: The Lago di Como and surrounding area is famous for its natural scenery. The lakeside towns, Bellagio, Varenna and Como, also attract many tourists for their churches, villas museums and boutiques.

Lake Garda: Tourists to Lake Garda can enjoy the scenery and medieval castles in Malcesine, Vallegio, Sirmione and Torri del Benaco. The area also attracts windsurfers and paragliders due to its favourable climate.
