It may be because your work keeps you on the move, or because you're still finding your feet in a new location, renovating a place, or just not able to commit to the cost of a purchase. Generally, rental contracts for short-term furnished accommodation differ considerably from long-term rental of an empty place and it helps to understand how the system works - there may be local norms that you don't expect.
